Counselling

I offer one-to-one counselling sessions for adults (aged 18+) over video call (Zoom) and telephone.

Counselling sessions are 50 minutes in length and take place weekly or fortnightly.

How do I start counselling?

If you are interested in starting counselling sessions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

We will then move through the steps below:

Initial Conversation

15-20 Mins | Free

Following your enquiry about counselling, we will arrange a phone call, lasting approximately 15-20 minutes. We will briefly talk through what prompted your enquiry, what counselling involves and any questions you may have.

Assessment

1 Hour | Free

After an initial conversation we will then arrange an assessment over phone or video (Zoom) call. This will involve asking more about your mental wellbeing and what has brought you to counselling, lasting up to 1 hour. There is no charge for the assessment and no obligation to continue to counselling sessions afterwards. It may be that through the assessment we find out that I am not the right counsellor for you, in which case I may be able to signpost you to a different avenue of support.

Starting Sessions

50 Mins | Weekly or Fortnightly | £45

Once the assessment is complete, we can then arrange a day and time for your counselling sessions. The first session will begin with signing a counselling agreement, setting out how we will work together, as well as the limits of confidentiality. The first session of counselling can sometimes be a little daunting, but there is no right or wrong, or any pressure to share all straight away. It is important to go at your own pace. To learn more about how counselling sessions work, please see FAQs.

All information shared in the steps above will be handled in line with Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Policy.

Fees

The fee per counselling session is £45.

I also offer a reduced fee of £35 for students and individuals in full-time education (a valid student ID will be required to confirm this).

Fees are to be paid by bank transfer by the end of the day the counselling session takes place.

Session fees may change during our work together, however you will be given 3 months notice of any fee increases.
